Hi everyone! I’ve grown to quite like these Wednesday posts. In addition to sharing my thoughts with you, they’re also a good way for me to refocus on things that matter and clear my head a bit.
My past few pieces of wisdom have been about taking time to relax and do something that you enjoy and that makes you happy. This week I’d like to focus on getting things done. I recently finished my Interior Design diploma course and even though it was something that I really enjoyed, it does feel good to have reached my goal.
Now, that was one of the easier things to finish. I find it a lot harder to finish the more mundane or laborious projects and chores. I know I’m not the only one. However, it was recently brought to my attention how these things that you know you have to do, but can’t bring yourself to begin, eat away at us. If it’s something visible like a pile of laundry waiting to be put away, every time you see it, you’ll think about it and feel bad about not having done it yet.
Get it done. Don’t take on too much at once, still take your ‘you time’, but tackle something that you’ve been meaning to do for a while. Even if you do one of those things that have been nagging at you every other day or if you do a couple of them a week, you’re still making progress. It’s still an achievement and you should be proud of yourself.
I’m the queen of procrastination and I know I’m my own biggest enemy when it comes to success and achieving my dreams. So I shall do my best to heed my advice and do it. Also, finishing something that you needed/wanted to do for ages will help you relax and have some down time as well so it’s win-win!
Last but not least, don’t forget to be kind to yourself. We all have our ups and downs and whether you believe it or not, nobody’s perfect.
Hope you enjoy the rest of your day 🙂
