Hellooooo! Hope you’re all well, wherever you are, whatever you’re doing. I myself am a bit giddy. It’s been SO long since I last told you about any of the beauty boxes I’m subscribed to.
So then I thought – how should I approach this? Should I tell you the second it arrives, sort of an unboxing style & first impressions or should I try everything out first and then do a proper full review post?
At first I decided to go for the second option, but seeing as I don’t have a bath I can’t really try out the bath products. As for all kinds of creams – if they have the little seal thing to keep them fresh I don’t really want to break into it straight away because I’ve got sooooo many creams on the go already. Now a few weeks have gone by and I’m still none the wiser.
Then I thought that I think too much so let’s just get on with it.
Lookfantastic November 2018
Contour Cosmetics Matte Liquid Lipstick (2.5ml)
I thought I’d start with something that I actually did try out. This pretty pinky nude lipstick dries down perfectly matte and completely budge proof. It lasts all day and it feels like nothing on lips. In a good way. I forgot I was wearing any lip product until I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror. Would highly recommend.
Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel (15ml)
That’s one of the items that have that seal thing to keep it nice and fresh. I can tell you what it claims to do though! It’s supposed to dissolve dead skin cells (that sounds a bit gruesome to be honest) without rubbing, leaving your skin smooth, moisturised and remineralised. It sounds promising. I mean, surely they wouldn’t put such spine-chilling claims (I can’t get over that dissolving skin cells part) out there if they didn’t have the goods to back it up. To prove that you in fact do want your face to melt off. (I’ve got great flare for dramatics, don’t I?) On a completely serious note though I think it’ll be great. I love Elemis products and they’ve not let me down yet. Looking forward to trying it!
Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator in ‘Guilded Honey’ (2g)
I’ve always loved Laura Geller’s products and I can really see how this could’ve been another favourite, if it wasn’t for the fact that this shade is too dark for me to use as a highlighter. I am a little bit disappointed by this, but as it is with products like these, you can’t cater for everyone’s skin tone with one item/shade. However, if we forget the fact that it’s a highlighter and simply take it for what’s in the pan – pretty gold shimmers – I can tell you now that I’ll be using this as an eyeshadow and I can also tell you that it will be absolutely gorgeous. It’s this beautiful bronze gold shade that can either be used on its own simply swept across the lid for a quick but oh-so-pretty look or used as part of your preferred makeup routine. So from me it’s a no as a highlighter but yes-yes-yes as an eyeshadow!
Bubble T Lookfantastic Dark Wonder Bath Bomb (150g)
This is a limited edition bath bomb infused with acai berry and hibiscus tea. As I don’t have a bath I haven’t been able to try it out yet, but I’m sure that when I eventually do stay somewhere with a bath and give it a go, it’ll be amazing. I mean, how can a bath bomb not be nice? I guess if it smelled awful or something like that, but this one smells really nice. So… It’ll work, right?
Mellow Precision Pen Eyeliner (1.8g)
Another one that I’ve tried and tested! Tested and loved. In fact, I have to say that I think it’s actually one of the best eyeliners I’ve ever used. It’s midnight black, applies like a dream, doesn’t bleed, doesn’t budge. I don’t know how or why but I felt like a total pro doing my liner with this. It’s like it’s got some magic that stops my hand from shaking and makes sure that both eyes look the same. I have no idea what makes it so special but I’m not about to question its ways. Love it!
REN Evercalm Global Protection Day Cream (15ml)
Last but not least – another perfectly sealed cream tub. So no, I’ve not tried it. But with the days getting colder and my face getting dryer I may break into this thing soon. I’m really liking what it says about ‘if you have sensitive, dry and inflamed rashy skin this will soothe any issues’. Sounds like a dream come true, right? Well, we’ll see how I get on with it. I’ll do my best to remember to let you know!
So, that’s the lot! Very impressed with the lipstick and eyeliner which will be part of my go-to makeup essentials for the foreseeable future. I’m also really looking forward to using that bath bomb!
Overall another great box from Lookfantastic and I’m really excited to see what they’ve got in store for next month.
See you soon!
