My life

Out in the wilderness

What do you do when you’re out in the wild? I guess that depends on your definition of wild. If by wild you mean camp it out with bears under the thickest tree branch you can find for shelter from the heavy downpour of rain, I’m guessing your main aim would be to stay alive. If that’s what you want. Although if you’re camping with bears I’d say you’re approaching it (staying alive, that is) from a bizarre angle.

If, however, by wild you mean surrounded by something other than massive brick and concrete buildings, never ceasing traffic noises and the general hustle and bustle of city life – say, maybe a few ancient trees, a scurry of squirrels, a banditry of chickadees and not much else instead, I’m going to go out on a limb and guess you’re looking to spend your time doing pretty much nothing.

That’s where I’m at right now anyway. Not in the ‘wilderness’. But I am surrounded by trees, squirrels, birds, peace and quiet. Doing nothing. And loving it. Very much.
