I realise it’s been a hot minute since I last wrote anything, but I really don’t have much to write about at the moment. Just trotting and pottering on. Let me see if I can bring out any highlights of my current utterly happy, cosy, comfortable and thoroughly boring (in the best way!) existence.
I went for a walk with my husband a few days ago to find A Leaf (every year at the beginning of autumn I need to go and find the most beautiful leaf and bring it home with me). A few steps from our front door I found a really nice one and pointed it out to my hubby who also found it very pretty. But I couldn’t pick the first leaf I saw, so we went and had our walk, keeping our eyes peeled for the Leaf. And of course ended up choosing the one we saw first a few steps from our front door. It simply couldn’t be beaten. So there’s that thrilling tale.
Our tarantula Spin still hasn’t molted (they throw off their old skin to grow). So he’s still the tiny little spiderling that he was when we got him a month ago. The crickets are growing though. I can’t actually remember if I’ve mentioned the crickets before. Well, tarantulas eat live food. In our case crickets. You know what, I think they deserve a story of their own. My little Jiminies.
Hmm, what else? Oh, Yule is cropping up everywhere. I mean, it has been since the beginning of September pretty much, but it’s well and truly here now. Every shop has aisles of Yule stuff from decorations to festive foods. I’ve decided not to fight it this year. Yes, it may have sapped my holiday spirits by December, but at least I get to enjoy it while it lasts. If I try to hold myself back, my holiday spirits will still be sapped come December, but I won’t have enjoyed any of it before then either. So yeah, I’ll just go with it.
I’ll go drink my tea and watch a bit of Netflix now.
Till next time,
